"You are simply brilliant. Both on stage, and in engaging with good intellect discourse, and in the way you care for humanity" - John Yeo (NIE Professor)
Events I've spoken at in the past 12 months include World Youth Foundation, Delhi Dialogue, Global Economic Summit, IAL, Singapore Education Technology Conference, Asia Insurance Brokers' Summit, Durban University of Technology, The Asian Education Technology Conference, Learntech Asia etc.
Topics I've Spoken On
Everything we create is an expression of our humanity. Science, Technology, Engineering and Math are creative endeavours. All these disciplines call upon the same essential creative forces by which we humans, all humans, are endowed with.
Therefore, as a matter of intellectual honesty, one must then be compelled to ask, "where is the feminine in this expression?"
This is an urgent question because in 2017, with hard-won liberties, it is our moral imperative to ask “what is gender of the gatekeepers who create and police the algorithms that govern and permeate every aspect of our lives?”
After nearly 2 decades of co-founding 6 companies (Formula 1 technology, edu-tech, F&B, private equity, lifestyle & design and social entrepreneurship), I have grown increasingly concerned of the glaring absence of women from the world of entrepreneurship.
If we are serious about creating a more equitable society, we must adopt a systemic long term approach that begins with the movies our children (both genders) watch, to how we speak about risk and money, to empowering men to empower the females in their lives, all the way to infrastructure re-hauling of lending policies!
Emotion & Decision-Making
Imagine, living just one day of your life unable to feel or recognise any emotion.
That would be one day when you are unable to make any decision, no matter how small.
How is this possible?
This talk mines the depth of the human mind, guts and heart, to reveal what was known since antuiqty and now re-discovered by the new sciences.
Language Creates Reality
Imagine, just one day where you merely exist but is not conscious either of your own existence or that of others.
Who then, what then, is "you"?
Language is the means by which our ideas, desires, intentions etc. come into be-ing. Language creates the reality of "you".
This talk presents you with a breathtaking view of the realms of language, perception, identity, power and reality.
Imagine, a day in your life where you are acknowledged and celebrated for who you truly are, and where you feel safe to be truly present to everyone as our whole and authentic self.
Who would you be on that day?
This talk invites you to journey deep into your self, to discover and express, the innate human capacity and desire for true intimacy that transforms every human connection.
When was the last time you were infuriated with sage but incomprehensible advise that goes along the lines of "never give up trying to let go" or "in order to find yourself, you have to lose yourself" or "accept what is but don't be a defeatist or idealist"?
Culled from two decades of sense-making, this talk is a pithy collection of experiences from the trenches that frame life's seemingly paradoxical principles in evocative metaphors.
The 6 "I" of Knowing
What is knowledge? How does a knower know? What is the process of knowing?
This talk explores the 6 "I" of knowing by which a knower knows - Illumination, Insight, Intuition, Inspiration, Instinct and Innovation.
An understanding of the different forms of knowing empowers one to become discerning of the potency of the knowledge gained.
The Future of Education
What would happen if we wrestle honestly with examining our most fundamental assumptions and biases about what we believe the purpose of education to be?
For something that is supposedly one of humanity's most necessary pursuit, education has seen very little evolution since antiquity.
This talk lays at your doorstep a sampling of questions that awaits our response, as individuals and as a collective.
